Subaru Impreza WRX STI DCCD & R180 LSD Performance Clutch Plate Upgrade
Performance drivetrain upgrade kit for Subaru Impreza WRX STI equipped with the DCCD (Driver's Control Center Differential) and R180 rear limited slip differential. RacingDiffs performance clutch plates restore proper locking capability and significantly increase torque capacity for high power builds.
This upgrade is designed for both street performance and track applications, especially for vehicles producing significantly more power than stock.
How Subaru DCCD Works
The Driver's Control Centre Differential (DCCD) allows the driver to adjust the center differential locking characteristics of the WRX STI drivetrain.
The system combines an electromagnetic multi-plate transfer clutch with a mechanical limited slip differential to control torque distribution between the front and rear axles.
Different operating modes adjust the torque distribution:
- Auto Mode – automatically selects optimal torque distribution
- Auto [+] – sends more torque to the front wheels for maximum traction
- Auto [-] – transfers more torque to the rear wheels for improved cornering response
- Manual Mode – six-step adjustment allowing the driver to choose the preferred locking level
When engine power is increased, the factory clutch plates often struggle to transfer the additional torque. RacingDiffs developed performance clutch plates capable of handling 1000+ horsepower while remaining a direct replacement for OEM parts.
R180 Rear LSD Upgrade
The R180 rear limited slip differential benefits significantly from upgraded clutch plates.
