The thrust washers sit between the spider gears and the LSD housing. Their purpose is to support the gears, maintain their correct position and provide a suitable contact surface as the gears rotate.

Over time, the original washers can become worn, damaged or deformed—particularly in differentials with worn clutch packs, excessive internal play or high mileage.

Replacing the washers during an LSD rebuild helps prevent direct contact between the spider gears and the differential housing.

Designed for original BMW ZF plated limited-slip differentials in the following sizes:

• 168mm small-case LSD
• 188mm medium-case LSD
• 210mm large-case LSD
